Mr. Bobby D. Brown

Principal

Mr. Brown has an extensive background as a transformational leader in K-12 education systems. He previously served as the executive director of Curriculum in ÃÙȦ×ÊÔ´Õ¾. He managed a staff of subject area leads and was responsible for all aspects of curriculum development and its successful implementation into classrooms. He has held a number of principalships throughout his career, serving Jackson, Natchez-Adams, and North Bolivar public schools. Mr. Brown also served as an assistant superintendent for two years in the Pass Christian public school system where all schools achieved the state’s highest Accountability rating in his second year in that role.

Mr. Brown holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree and a Master in Education Administration and Supervision degree from Jackson State University. Additionally, he has completed more advanced coursework in Administration and Supervision at Mississippi State University. Mr. Brown has furthered his skills in education administration as a participant of several professional institutes, including four years each at the Harvard University Principals' Institute and the National Principals' Leadership Institute.

Mrs. Nicole Dobbins

Assistant Principal, Jim Hill High School
Nicole M. Dobbins, the 11th grade Assistant Principal at Jim Hill High School, is a dedicated educator that brings 25 years of experience to her role in shaping young minds. A proud native of Jackson, Mississippi, Nicole is a graduate of Lanier High School and earned her Master’s in Education Administration from Jackson State University.
Outside of her professional life, Nicole is a loving wife and mother of four, finding joy in spending quality time with her family and friends. She is also an avid traveler, appreciating the opportunity to explore new places and cultures.
In addition to her work in education, Nicole is the author of the children’s book Cooking with Granny, a heartfelt tribute to her beloved grandmother.
Nicole’s favorite quote, "Even the darkest night will end, and the sun will rise," reflects her optimistic outlook on life and her commitment to inspiring resilience in others.

Mr. Vertis Holmes

 

Mr. Vertis L. Holmes serves as the 9th Grade Assistant Principal at Jim Hill High School, bringing over two decades of experience in education and leadership within the Jackson Public School District.Mr. Holmes earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Jackson State University and continued his education at Mississippi College, where he obtained both a Master’s Degree and an Educational Specialist Degree.With 22 years of dedicated service in education, Mr. Holmes has held a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, middle school assistant principal, middle school principal, and high school assistant principal. His extensive experience has equipped him with the skills and vision to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.

Mr. Holmes is deeply committed to the belief that all scholars are capable of learning and achieving success. His leadership philosophy centers on fostering a positive and inclusive environment where every student is empowered to reach their full potential.In his role at Jim Hill High School, Mr. Holmes remains passionate about preparing students for future success and cultivating a culture of excellence and lifelong learning.

Ms. Erica Stokes

Erica Stokes is a distinguished alumna of Tougaloo College, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master’s degree in Psychology from the University of Phoenix and an additional Master’s degree in Education from Belhaven University. Demonstrating her commitment to academic and professional excellence, Mrs. Stokes also achieved a Specialist degree in Leadership and Education from Belhaven University.
Currently, Mrs. Stokes serves as the Dean of Students at Jim Hill High School, where she fulfills a multifaceted role, contributing significantly to the academic and behavioral development of the student body. A passionate advocate for education, Mrs. Stokes firmly believes in its transformative power to shape futures and build stronger communities.

Dr. Shaletha Wilson-Fisher

 

 

Shaletha Fisher is a product of Jackson Public Schools. She grew up in the Washington Addition neighborhood and is a proud graduate of Jim Hill High School. Shaletha started her career in Jackson Public Schools as an English teacher before moving on to work in the district’s curriculum department as a Curriculum Lead for two years.

She attended Jackson State University and received her Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in English. After working as an educator for several years, she went on to receive her Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Supervision from Jackson State University.

Shaletha believes that anyone can achieve anything through hard work and dedication. The quest for knowledge is a lifelong endeavor. If there is one quote to reflect Shaletha’s belief in the importance of an education, it would be by Malcolm X: “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
